Marketing Manager, Select Pharmaceuticals, Vaccines, Diagnostics

Reports to:Head of Marketing

Summary: Operates as a senior marketing manager responsible for a select group of veterinary pharmaceuticals, vaccines and diagnostic products. The key objective of this position is to achieve the budgeted sales of brands within the designated portfolio. Improving product marketability and profitability by researching, identifying and capitalizing on market opportunities are also essential skill elements for this position. Multi-faceted responsibilities includes designing and executing annual marketing plans, identifying marketing opportunities by identifying customer requirements; defining market, competitors' share, competitors' advantages and weaknesses; forecasting projected business and establishing targeted company share. Managing key product development projects and identifying new product opportunities for the future are also core requirements for this position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Achieves financial objectives by preparing and managing an annual budget.
  • Establishes marketing plan by developing marketing and pricing strategies, objectives, action plans, schedules and assignments.
  • Obtains market share by planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating advertising, merchandising, and trade promotion programs.
  • Evaluates and communicates market opportunities to provide strategic direction for the corporation.
  • Designs and analyzes business models and coordinates new product development with research and development associates.
  • Sustains rapport with key accounts by making periodic visits; exploring specific needs; anticipating new opportunities.
  • Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing and presenting information.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.

  • Creative, hands-on, tough-minded involved management style.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and communicate effective marketing strategies / programs to sales representatives and sales managers.
  • Energetic.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with multiple groups within an organization.

Distinguishing Characteristics:

  • Min. BS Science Degree, Marketing Education desirable
  • 3-5 years of sales or sales management experience with demonstrated results.
  • 5 or more years of marketing experience.
  • Demonstrated track record of leadership.
  • Previous animal health experience in a fast-paced, growth environment.
