Heska is seeking to add a Senior Programmer/Analyst to its IT staff. The developer will work on internal development and integration projects. A solid appreciation of the development life cycle is required together with a proven track record of effective solutions development including documentation, testing, deployment and user training where appropriate.
Primary Duties
Development of object oriented solutions, from inception to delivery, using the Microsoft .NET framework, the C# programming language, and current internet technologies such as ASP.NET, Java script, XML and XSLT. Most solutions will require integration with, or extensions to, existing ERP business systems, especially Onyx and/or Great Plains
Development and deployment of SQL Server databases including the design of schemas and the creation of stored procedures using T-SQL.
Development and deployment of solutions based on the Microsoft BI product stack – including SharePoint, MOSS and related BI components.
Key Responsibilities
Interact with internal customers and business analysts to determine and refine solution requirements
Plan and create solutions to agreed specifications, timelines and quality
Define appropriate and measurable development milestones
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with production software and systems
Participate actively in planning and building our iterative, agile development process

Must Haves:
Working knowledge of C#, ASP.Net, SQL Server, Dot Net 2.0, and object oriented programming design.
Excellent, methodical, problem solving skills
Self reliance and ability to lead others where necessary
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to articulate and control project progress using Microsoft Project or similar
Plan and create solutions to agreed specifications, timelines and quality
Highly Desireable:
Development/integration experience with Onyx (OEP version) and/or Microsoft Great Plains (Dynamics version 9 or beyond).
Experience with component-based scalable, logical architecture (CSLA), AJAX, and XHTML
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a BS in Computer Science and at least five years of solid development experience in the areas listed above, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. He or she must be self motivated and able to operate within the context of a development team, but with minimal supervision. Familiarity with developing integrated solutions with the Onyx (OEP) CRM system and/or the Microsoft Great Plains financial system would be a decided advantage.
