Service Technician - Level I

Reports to: Instrumentation Service Supervisor

Summary: Serves internal and external customers by repairing diagnostic and vital signs instrumentation.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, repair, and perform quality assurance checks on Heska’s line of diagnostic and vital signs instrumentation including infusion pumps, pulse oximeters, and handheld chemistry analyzers.
  • Minimize service turn around time by coordinating receipt and repair of returned instrumentation in a timely manner.
  • Prepare accurate service reports and issue appropriate documentation for each instrument serviced and repaired.
  • Communicate with customers as deemed necessary by the service supervisor.
  • Package and ship repair instruments as needed
  • Provide input by monitoring trends in terms of instrumentation repair problems and resolutions.
  • Provide excellent customer support and follow-up.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Ability to lift 40 pounds
  • Conscientious, thorough and careful, pays close attention to detail, concern with quality, accuracy

Experience required

  • AS degree Electronics or 1-3 years experience in electronics, biomedical engineering, veterinary laboratory, and/or medical technology or related repair experience.

Necessary Skills

  • Must have skills with electronics, hydraulics and mechanical systems as well as proficiency on PC based computer systems and applications
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Critical listening and problem solving skills, especially in relating information on equipment functioning
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to see slight differences in objects, shapes and pictures
