The E.R.D.-HealthScreen® tests are extremely accurate, with no false positives.* The accuracy of the tests will not be compromised by fecal or dirt contamination of the urine. Gross hematuria (i.e., pink or red urine) may interfere with interpretation of the results (i.e., urine samples that contain visible blood should not be used). Testing should be delayed until the hematura is resolved.

NOTE: Circumstances exist when the E.R.D.-HealthScreen® tests may be negative, yet the patient has underlying illness; such as the following:

  • A patient with end-stage renal disease may test negative for microalbuminuria.
  • The particular disease condition generally does not damage the nephron.
  • The disease condition has not led to detectable nephron damage at the time of testing with the E.R.D.-HealthScreen® tests.

* Based on 16 months field use of the E.R.D.-HealthScreen® Canine Urine Test, no documented false positives have been identified.
